Understanding Iniquity

Part 4 - Grace - Fully Human

Key Scriptures

Exodus 34:6–7

Psalm 51:5

Core Truth

Iniquity describes formation, not failure.

There are patterns that don’t feel chosen.
They feel automatic.

A tightening in the chest.
A need to manage.
A quick retreat inward.
A sense of responsibility that feels heavier than love.

Scripture calls this iniquity — not as accusation, but as description.

Iniquity is not unforgiven sin.
It is the shape the self learned to take before rest was known.

These patterns were not formed in rebellion.
They were formed in response.

Grace does not demand that these patterns disappear overnight.
It looks at them with compassion.

Nothing in you is disqualified because it learned how to survive.

Closing Reflection

Which patterns feel automatic rather than deliberate?

This simply names reflexes, without judgement.

What kinds of responses tend to arise around these patterns?

This invites curiosity about reactions, not correction.

What shifts when these patterns are understood as formation rather than failure?

This explores meaning, not change.
